Zamyatin, who was the pioneer and inspiration of writers such as G. Orwell and A. Huxley, turned anti-utopia into a radical criticism weapon by pointing out the danger of totalitarianism with Us, which he wrote long before them. In Zamyatin Biz, which is against a whole and finished society, he tells about the negativities of such a society. In the novel set in the 26th century, human beings have been cut off from nature and their 'self' and surrendered to technology and the bureaucratic state by becoming 'us'. There is no personality... People have numbers, not names. Every minute of the people living behind transparent glass walls is determined and controlled by the state. Male and female numbers are only allowed to lower the curtains when they visit each other at pre-determined lovemaking hours with their permits. Zamyatin became one of the most radical figures of his generation, opposing official views, arguing that 'true literature can only be realized not by reliable and diligent officials, but by the heretical and rebellious, madmen and dreamers'.
