Stephen Zweig - 24 Hours in a Woman's Life

Miss Henriette escapes with a French teenager from a small hotel on the French Riviera, where she is on vacation with her husband and child. This escape, which does not comply with the aristocratic morality of the 1920s, leads to arguments and disagreements among the guests of the hotel; only one of them sees what is going on as "normal". Miss C decides to tell this tolerant stranger about the twenty-four hours she lived in Monte Carlo years ago, which she cannot forget throughout her life.
